My Wounded Friend

Lord Jesus,
Why did this happen to my friend and not me?
Please heal my heart and remove all sorrow and
condemnation from me. You are able to remove
these guilty feelings from me. Rather, direct my
feelings toward compassion and prayer for
others, and for the men, women, and children
who are in need around me. Although I do not
understand what is going on fully, I know You
know all things, and I commit it all into Your
hands. I also commit to You the body, mind,
soul, and spirit of my friend. Let Your healing
power and life fill his/her body in Jesus’ name.
Let Your glory be seen. Surround us all with Your
grace. Thank You, for Your help, kindness, and
tender mercies toward us.

  • So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my
helper; I will not fear. What can man do
    to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
  • The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6)
So you shall serve the Lord your God,
and He will bless your bread and your
water. And I will take sickness away from
the midst of you. (Exodus 23:25)
  • “…If you diligently heed the voice of the
Lord your God and do what is right in
His sight, give ear to His commandments
and keep all His statutes, I will put none
of the diseases on you which I have
brought on the Egyptians. For I am the
Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)
  • He who dwells in the secret place of the
Most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
“He is my refuge and my fortress; my
God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall
deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the perilous pestilence. He shall
cover you with His feathers, and under
His wings you shall take refuge; His truth
shall be your shield and buckler. You
shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of
the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor
of the destruction that lays waste at
noonday. A thousand may fall at your
side, and ten thousand at your right
hand; but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, and
see the reward of the wicked. Because you
have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
even the Most High, your dwelling place,
no evil shall befall you, nor shall any
plague come near your dwelling; for He
shall give His angels charge over you, to
keep you in all your ways.
    (Psalm 91:1-11)
  • Who forgives all your iniquities, Who
heals all your diseases. (Psalm 103:3)
The Lord will strengthen him on his bed
of illness; You will sustain him on his
    sickbed. (Psalm 41:3)
  • “Then shall the virgin rejoice in the
dance, And the young men and the old,
together; for I will turn their mourning to
joy, will comfort them, and make them
    rejoice rather than sorrow.”
    (Jeremiah 31:13).
